Heat resistant coatings on carbon materials

  • 1. AN SSSR, Leningrad (Russian Federation). Inst. Khimii Silikatov

Description

Coatings for carbon material containing no silicic glass matrices during synthesis are produced on the base of metals, oxides and oxygen-free high-melting compounds. Such coatings are able to protect at higher temperatures than the earlier known ones. Coatings based on MoSi2-(Mo+Si+Al) protect carbon material against burnout in the air at the temperatures of up to 1800 deg C, and coatings, containing zirconium boride - at the temperatures of up to 2000 deg C. 4 refs.; 4 tabs
