The standard refers to electrical measuring equipment that contains sealed radioactive sources for the determination of physical and chemical quantities (radiometric measuring instruments), and is intended as a basis for further standards to be set up in this subject field. It contains constructional requirements for various classes of instruments within the scope of the standard. The requirements are formulated in a more general way, in order to facilitate applicability to a variety of instruments. The standard can also serve as a tool for formulating specifications to be agreed upon between manufacturer and applier. (orig./HP)
