Radiation exposure around patients after Administration of 99mTc-DPD

Description
Dose rate measurements were performed in 0.5, 1 and 2 m distance from the surface of the bodies of 16 patients within the first 4 h after they had received 600 ± 30 MBq of 99mTc-DPD. The various individual time to dose rate courses are discussed. The radiation dose rates around the patients were determined and the possible radiation exposure of other patients, attendants, and nurses in the surroundings of the ''radiating'' patients were estimated. The doses were far below the limits set by radiation protection regulations. (orig.)
Abstract (German)
Bei 16 Patienten wurden innerhalb der ersten 4 h nach Applikation von 600 ± 30 MBq 99mTc-DPD die Ortsdosisleistungen in 0,5, 1 und 2 m Entfernung von der Koerperoberflaeche gemessen. Die unterschiedlichen, individuellen Dosisleistungsverlaeufe werden an drei Beispielen diskutiert. Aus den Messungen wurden die Strahlendosen in der Umgebung der Patienten bestimmt und die moegliche Strahlenexposition anderer Patienten, der Begleitpersonen und das Pflegepersonals in der Umgebung der ''strahlenden'' Patienten abgeschaetzt. Die Personendosen lagen deutlich unterhalb der durch die Strahlenschutzbestimmungen festgelegten Grenzwerte. (orig.)Additional details
