Development and testing of a prototype honeycomb cell gas detector array

Description

The measurement of photon multiplicity at high energies involves the detection of shower particles formed by converted photons in a suitable high density material like lead. A suitable sensitive medium is used to detect the shower particles. It has been decided to investigate the possibility of using gas as sensitive medium for the future collider experiments at RHIC and LHC, in order to reduce the overall cost and also the background contribution due to neutron response --------------------------------------- INIS Group, Library and Information Division, BARC, Bombay 400 085, India. ---------------------------------------
