Electricity is probably one of the most vital infrastructure inputs for the economic development of a country. Indeed, it is the fulcrum on which the pace of growth and development rests. But electricity has always been a scarce commodity in a developing country like India. The demand for electricity in India is enormous and is growing steadily. The need of the hour is not only to look for new sources of electricity but also to use available energy in an efficient manner. And one of the major bottlenecks in the efficient utilisation of the electricity is low power factor
