Description

This paper explains the basic theory about ion mobility in vapor. The basic items necessary for understanding ion mobility have been picked up: Definition of mobility, relationship with diffusion coefficient, theoretical expression of arrival time spectrum, theoretical expression of mobility, relationship with interparticle potential, polarization limit, zero field mobility, Blanc's law in a mixed gas, thermalization process, and space charge effect.
