Description
Treatment of castration-resistant prostate cancer has undergone a revolution over the past 3 years with the approval of five new therapies, including new hormonal therapies (abiraterone and enzalutamide) and bone-targeted agents (denosumab, radium-223). New targeted agents have improved survival and quality of life. Currently, companion biomarkers are lacking for a better individualization of treatment. (authors)

Le traitement du cancer de la prostate resistant a la castration a connu une revolution ces trois dernieres annees avec l'autorisation de mise sur le marche de cinq nouvelles therapeutiques dont des hormonotherapies de nouvelle generation (abiraterone et enzalutamide) et des agents ciblant la proliferation tumorale osseuse (denosumab, radium-223). Les nouveaux agents cibles ont permis une amelioration de la survie et de sa qualite. A l'heure actuelle, les biomarqueurs 'compagnons' predictifs d'efficacite des therapies ciblees manquent pour une meilleure individualisation du traitement. (auteurs)Additional details
