Background characteristics of the underground laboratory of hydrology and engineering geology of the Georgian SSR Academy of Science
Description
Background characteristics of the underground laboratory for determining ultralow radionuclide quantities in rock and water samples as well as in structural materials of nuclear radiation detectors are investigated. NaI(Tl) detector is used for measuring background γ radiation. Mesurements are performed within the 0.3-5.0 MeV range. A conclusion is drawn that a certain dependence of detector counting rates on the seismic situation in the region exists
