A 16 deg. wedge pad for urography
Description
With the patient supine the long axis of the kidney has an average 160 (SD 5,80) distal ventral inclination to the horizontal table top plane. A 100 cm long wedge shaped pad with a 160 angle to be placed under the patient's shoulders and back during urography to bring the long axis of the kidney parallel to the horizontal plane is described. This method gives simultaneous good visualization of both the upper and lower outlines of the kidneys on a single tomographic cut. (orig.)

Beim liegenden Patienten hat die Laengsachse der Niere eine durchschnittliche distale ventrale Neigung von 160 (SD 5,80) gegenueber der horizontalen Tischebene. Der Verfasser beschreibt ein 100 cm langes keilfoermiges Kissen bzw. Polster mit einem Winkel von 160, das unter die Schulter und den Ruecken des Patienten waehrend der Urographie geschoben wird, um die Nierenlaengsachse mit der Horizontalebene in Linie zu bringen. Diese Methode ermoeglicht eine gleichzeitige gute Darstellung sowohl der oberen als auch der unteren Nierenkonturen bei einem einzigen tomographischen Schnitt. (orig.)Additional details
