Characterization of the Guignard Painter's Palette by XRF and FTIR

  • 1. Liscomp Laboratory, Paracambi, RJ (Brazil)

Description

In this work, the pigments and binders used by the painter Guignard in his palette were characterized by X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF) and Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) techniques. These techniques are widely used in pigment characterization in artworks [2–6]. The results of this work will be useful in the future, as a database, to be compared with those obtained from suspicious screens. (author)
