Photometric determination of molybdenum in standard chrome-plating electrolyte
Description
A method of photometric determination of molybdenum is considered regarding the chrome-plating electrolytes (Cr-Mo coverage). The following features are found to underlie the method: the ability of molybdenum (unlike chromium) to escape codeposition with Mg(OH)2 residue, reduction of Mo(6) to Mo(5) and Mo(4) and formation of colored thiocyanate complexes. 5 refs
