The deuterium-atom positions in deuterated molybdic acid, MoO3.2D2O, by powder neutron diffraction

  • 1. Oxford Univ. (UK). Inorganic Chemistry Lab.

Description

Msub(r) = 184.0, monoclinic, P21/n, a = 10.487 (1), b = 13.850 (1), c = 10.617 (1) A, β = 91.62 (9)0, V = 1541.5 A3, Z = 16, Dsub(x) = 3.17 g cm-3, lambda = 1.909 A, μ = 0.032 cm-1, T = 298 K. The D-atom positions in MoO3.2D2O have been obtained from profile analysis of powder neutron diffraction data. The profile, arising from 1530 overlapping reflections, was refined to Rsub(wp) = 9.8 using the Rietveld method. It was not found necessary to apply a linear absorption correction. (Auth.)
