Neutrino scattering from 12C and 16O

Description
Exclusive and inclusive (νμ,μ-), (νe,e-) cross sections and μ--capture rates are calculated for 12C and 16O using the consistent random phase approximation (RPA) and pairing model. After a pairing correction is introduced to the RPA results, the flux-averaged theoretical (νμ,μ-), (νe,e-) cross sections and μ--capture rates in 12C are in good agreement with experiment. Predictions of (νμ,μ-) and (νe,e-) cross sections in 16O are also presented. copyright 1997 The American Physical Society
