Fusion power reactor neutronic analysis with TRIPOLI-3

Description

The 3D capability of the Monte Carlo method is essential for some reactor analyses. A three-step calculational scheme has been developed for application using the TRIPOLI-3 code together with the EFF-1 nuclear data library. This involves firstly a model of the source in 3-D, secondly a 'homogeneous' 3-D model of the entire nuclear island and finally a detailed 'heterogeneous' model of the blanket in 2-D. The approaches of this scheme are described and plan for its use outlined. (K.A.)
