Description
Radioactive neutron sources viz, Am-Be, Am-B, Am-F, Am-Li, 252Cf, Pu-Be and Ra-α-Be etc. are commonly used for calibration and evaluation of the energy response characteristics of neutron detector systems used in radiation protection monitoring. The energy response characteristic of a detector is given by its response measured in a radiation field relative by its response measured in a radiation field relative to that of the same obtained with a standard instrument and is conveniently carried out in a calibration laboratory with the use of radioactive neutron sources having different energies.
