Fuel assembly
Description
A fuel assembly has a square shape, and comprises a channel box, 28 fuel rods A, 32 fuel rods B and one water rod. The fuel rods A comprise plutonium fuels with cooling time of 9 years before reprocessing. The fuel B comprises plutonium fuels with a cooling time of 2 years before reprocessing. Both of fuels A and B have a fissile plutonium enrichment degree of 3.5w/o and enrich natural uranium. Fuels A comprising plutonium with long cooling time till reprocessing for the fuel rods to be disposed at the peripheral portion where the power tends to be increased compared with fuel rods in other regions thereby lowering the power. As a result, the power distribution in the fuel assembly can be flattened without lowering fuel economy. (I.N.)
