Description

In opposition with the industrial and nuclear area, the operational dosimetry is less developed in the hospital medium. It can be come from several factors: the ionizing radiations are used for the patient benefit and then the professional accepts some risks, the competent persons in charge of radiation protection have not always the time, the means and sometimes the technique competence to organize and manage this dosimetry, the data of regulatory dosimetry are globally reassuring and let rarely critical situations appear, the data of the operational dosimetry, essential in a optimization approach are not considered as necessary because this approach is not developed in the medical sector where the limitation principle is the only one kept to manage the workers exposure.
