Software for the acquisition and proses of Gammagraphy images

Description

In Cuba, the piece of equipment most widespread in Gammagraphy studies is the rectilinear scanner. In the years 1997-98, all such equipment was coupled to the microcomputer by specialists from Nuclear Research and Service Center and Marie Curie Oncological Hospital, both in Camaguey city. The results went beyond expectations, which allowed for the continuation of work in these departments with quality higher than that of the original version. This paper describes the software for acquiring and processing the images. The acquisition software is a wizard application that guides technicians through the different steps of the study and allows for the use of the computer in other tasks during the study. MDI (Multiple Document Interface) is the image processing software, which makes it possible for technicians to simultaneously visualize several studies for comparison, to apply several image processing techniques, to insert comments on the study and to show anatomical marks, to mention only a few advantages. The software were developed in Delphi 3.0 for Windows 95 or higher
