Description
A National Nuclear Accident Prevention System was set up in Hungary in 1989, in order to decide measures to prevent accidents or to minimize consequences at emergency situations. The organization and structure of the NNAPS is presented, and its operational procedures are described. The technical devices of decision making include detection and monitoring systems and computerized data processing. Medical preparations for nuclear emergencies are reported. (R.P.)
