On the mechanisms of lunar regolith glass particle formation

It is stated that the discovery of many particles of glass in the lunar regolith has resulted in various hypotheses for their origin. Based on previously unpublished work, an analysis is here given of the principal mechanisms of their formation and evolution. (author)
