Reflection of gamma radiation from the interface between two media
Description
A theory is developed of a small-angle γ-quanta reflection from the interface between substances with different dielectric susceptibilities. The reflected wave is shown to be formulated aong comparatively large longitudinal and transvere (relative to the interface) distances. The influence of the interface roughness and photon absorption in the process of reflection on the reflection factor is investigated. Measurements of the factor of 122 keV γ-quantum reflection from the glass surface in a wide range of photon incidence angles are carried out. The possibility of focusing and rotation of γ-quantum beams of sufficiently high energies is shown to be practicable
