Distribution in the Italian population of the absorbed dose due to the natural background radiation

  • 1. Agip Nucleare, Milan

Description

Results are summarized of a survey on the natural background gamma radiation in Italy performed with a network of more than 1000 measurement points, for the purpose of determining the values of absorbed dose in the various areas and of identifying their correlations with the geological features of the soil. The distribution of the absorbed γ radiation dose and the cumulative dose to the population of the different areas and of the entire country were estimated. (U.S.)
