Atucha II and the KWU pressurized heavy water reactor line

Description
The KWU pressurized heavy water reactor (PHWR) series began with the Multi-Purpose Research Reactor (MZFR) and has since developed via Atucha I into the Atucha II plant currently under construction. After a brief outline of the contracts concluded in connection with the construction of the Atucha II plant, this paper describes the strong resemblance between the PHWR and the pressurized light water reactor with regard to systems and component engineering, building layout and safety features, and discusses the few points in which the two differ. Abstract (German)
Die KWU-Druckkessel-Schwerwasserreaktor-Baulinie (PHWR) geht auf den Mehrzweckforschungsreaktor zurueck und fuehrt ueber Atucha I zu der in Bau befindlichen Anlage Atucha II. Nach einer kurzen Vorstellung der Vertraege, die im Zusammenhang mit dem Bau der Anlage Atucha II abgeschlossen wurden, wird die sehr starke Aehnlichkeit der PHWR-Anlagen mit den Druckkessel-Leichtwasserreaktoranlagen in Bezug auf System- und Komponententechnik, Gebaeudeaufbau und Sicherheitseinrichtungen aufgezeigt.
