On relationship between a threshold amplitude at ultrasonic deformation and static yield strength

  • 1. AN SSSR, Sverdlovsk. Inst. Fiziki Metallov

Description

The relationship between dynamics and initial static yield strengths for pure nickel and nickel alloyed with iumchrom and molybdenum in the range of solid solutions under ultrasonic strain has been investigated at the 18 kHz frequency. It has been found that the dynamic yield strength, i. e. the threshold amplitude at which hardening under ultrasonic strain begins, increases, with the growth of alloying elements concentration, from a value below the initial yield strength up to values exceeding its magnitude and strongly depends on the alloying element nature
