Threshold behaviour of pion structure functions probed in inclusive e+e- annihilation

Description

The inclusive e+e- annihilation cross-section is analyzed with respect to the threshold behaviour of the (short distance) pion structure functions, taking proper account of anomalous threshold contributions. The threshold behaviour is found to be (1-x) rather than (1-x)2 as one might infer from the SPEAR data. (Auth.)
