Description

Extraction of Pm(III) from perchlorate aqueous solution of constant ionic strength (0.2; H+, NaCIO4) using di(2-ethyl hexyl) phosphoric acid (HDEHP) alone or mixed with a series of primary, secondary and tertiary amines in benzene has been studied. The mechanisms by which the extraction takes place were suggested. The chemical formula of the extracted species was elucidated as Pm(DEHP)3 (Amine). The respective extraction and formation constants were evaluated and correlated. 6 figs., 2 tabs
