Thermal/Structural Evaluation of Tubular Interacting Fuel Pin End Regions
Description
A method of assessing temperatures, stresses and displacements of tubular interacting fuel pin end regions is described in some detail. Interaction pressure variation between fuel compact and inner graphite sleeve is taken into account in the two contrasting pin end configurations examined. An encouraging degree of correlation has been found in one of these examples for which post-irradiation examination measurements have already been reported. (author)
