QCD test in final state DIS events at HERA
Description
Tests of QCD in hadronic final state deep inelastic scattering events at HERA are reported. Particular emphasis is paid to the comparison of the e+p results with pp-bar and e+e- annihilation with the final aim of testing the universality of quark fragmentation. In particular the measurement of fragmentation functions in the Breit frame, the measurement of jet shapes and the results on the jet structure of multihadronic final states in deep inelastic rapidity gap events at HERA are shown. The evolution with Q of the charged multiplicity and scaled momentum, xp, is similar to that in e+e- at Q > 10 GeV but differs from e+e- at lower Q values. Jet shapes are comparable with e+e- but different from pp-bar. The jettiness of rapidity gap events is similar to that observed in e+e- but the broadening effects exhibited by the data are stronger than those observed in e+e- annihilation. (author)
