Alkali metal and ammonium decamolybdenodicobaltates (3)

Description

A study has been made into some properties of decamolybdenodicobaltates (3) at ammonium, sodium, potassium, rubidium, and cesium. The sodium, rubidium and cesium salts have been synthesized for the first time. Studies of water solubility at 25 deg C have shown that it decreases from the sodium salt to the cesium one, the solubility of the ammonium salt being somewhat more pronounced than that of the potassium salt. Potentiometric titration and the values of molecular conductivity of the salts are indicative of semi-ionic dissociation. Thermographic studies of the salts under consideration attest to the different nature of the crystal and so-called constitution water
