Unified preon models based on simple gauge groups

Description

Unified preon models based on simple gauge groups are investigated. Imposing some appropriate conditions, we arrive at two possibilities on SU(9) and another on SU(10). They are incompatible with technicolor. We shall also discuss a simple breaking pattern of these models to estimate the hypercolor confinement scale. (orig.)
