sup(99m)Tc(*Tc)-labelled phosphate compounds in nuclear medicine

Description
In nuclear medicine many different radiopharmaceuticals - especially labelled compounds of sup(99m)Tc-phosphate - are used. The sup(99m)Tc-labelled phosphate compounds described in this paper have become useful additions to the existing armamentarium of radiopharmaceuticals important in clinical medicine. In particular sup(99m)Tc-MDP seems to be the agent of choice for bone scanning while sup(99m)Tc-phytate may be a useful alternative to sulfur colloid for liver imaging. Other possible clinical uses of sup(99m)Tc-phosphate compounds are as follows: Bone localizing agents can be used in imaging studies of acute myocardial infarction, cerebral infarcts, microcalcification of soft tissues and some soft tissue tumour localization. Phytate can be used for pulmonary ventilation studies by aerosol techniques, lymph mode imaging, and liver blood flow. (GSE)
Abstract (German)
In der Nuklearmedizin verwendet man zahlreiche verschiedene Radiopharmazeutika, vorwiegend markierte Verbindungen von sup(99m)Tc-Phosphat. Die in der vorliegenden Arbeit beschriebenen sup(99m)Tc-markierten Phosphatverbindungen haben sich als wirkungsvolle neue Mittel im Arsenal der in der klinischen Medizin verwendeten Radiopharmazeutika erwiesen. sup(99m)Tc-MDP vor allem scheint das Mittel der Wahl bei der Knochenabtastung zu sein, waehrend sup(99m)Tc-Phytat sich als brauchbare Alternative zu Schwefelkolloid bei der Leberabbildung erweisen koennte. Andere Moeglichkeiten der klinischen Verwendung von sup(99m)Tc-Verbindungen sind: Knochenlokalisierungsmittel koennen zum Sichtbarmachen von akutem Herzinfarkt, zerebralem Infarkt, Mikrokalzifizierung von Weichteilen, und zur Lokalisierung gewisser Tumore in den Weichteilen verwendet werden. Phytat kann zur Untersuchung der Lungenventilation mit Aerosolmethoden, zur Lymphknotenabbildung und zur Untersuchung der Leberdurchblutung verwendet werden. (GSE/AK)Additional details
