Control rod withdrawal monitor
Description
Purpose: To monitor whether a control rod is connected with control rod drives or not in BWR type reactors. Constitution: The monitor is provided with a function of judging whether the neutron flux changes normally or not upon operation of a control rod by using the variation amount of a control rod operation signal and a neutron flux signal and inhibiting the control rod operation or generating an alarm if the change of the neutron flux is anbormal. The total value for the signals from four neutron detection strings surrounding the control rod is used as the neutron flux signal. The change of the neutron flux is judged by comparing the levels of the total value before and after the withdrawal of the control rod. (Ikeda, J.)
