Rare earth elements determination by neutron activation analysis in natural phosphate rocks and residues
- 1. Institute of Physics and Nuclear Engineering, Institute of Atomic Physics, PO Box MG-6, R-76900 Bucharest, (Romania)
Description
Neutron activation analysis was used for the determination of the content of eight rare earth elements: La, Ce, Sm, Eu, Tb, Dy, Yb, Lu and of Sc and U in natural phosphate rocks, phosphogypsum and phosphate residues. By this method, the rare earth elements are simultaneously determined in a single sample. It can be used on a routine basis. The yttrium content as determined by X-ray fluorescence is also mentioned.
