Ceramics - liquid metals. Compatibilities and angles of wetting

This is a bibliography on the problems at the contact of ceramics with liquid metals. The phenomena governing the attack on ceramics by liquid metals from a thermodynamic viewpoint, and the static and dynamic kinetics of corrosion are described. References to articles and principal works giving the thermodynamic values of ceramics are given in an appendix. The theories governing wetting phenomena (angle of wetting, surface energies, adhesion work) are summarized. The various factors affecting wetting (surface roughness, time, impurity, atmosphere) are described. The result of the principal work done on compatibility or reaction between ceramics and liquid metals are grouped in tables by liquid metal or alloy. The ceramic-liquid metal wetting angles given in the literature are given in the same form
