Description

To introduce of how to build nuclear power plant equipment reliability indicators, and how to apply these indicators to monitor the state of the plant, based on U.S. equipment reliability index (ERI) as an example. These indicators include 'leading' indicators and 'lagging' indicators, with ERI indicators the staff can fully assess the plant management and equipment operation and maintenance of the plant. Nuclear power plant operating units as well as nuclear safety authorities can analyze these indicators to evaluate current plant performance, and with trend analysis, the weak point of plant management and maintenance of equipment would be identified before degradation performance happen, then appropriate corrective measures will be taken to enhance the safe level of the nuclear power plant. ERI have been widely used in nuclear power plants in the United States and Canada and proved to be effective. It's necessary to introduce ERI to nuclear power plant in china, in order to enhance equipment management. Finally, this paper gives recommendations and suggestions on how to implement the program.
