Osteoplastic tracheobronchopathy. CT - aided diagnosis

Description
Osteoplastic tracheobronchopathy is rare disease characteristic by formation of cartilaginous and osteal nodules on internal surface of mucous of trachea, sometimes of primary bronchi. The disease is asymptotic and determined from autopsy. Clinical symptoms: cough, hemoptysis, sometimes high temperature. Two patients with osteoplastic tracheobronchopathy were examined. Conducted roentgenography of the lungs, fibrotracheobronchoscopy, biopsy permitted to diagnose chronic nonspecific inflammation. It was shown that use of computerized tomography (CT) helped to establish the presence of osteoplastic tracheobronchopathy without invasive methods
