Enhancement of thermal neutron induced killing effect of HeLa cells containing boron-10 nucleic acid derivatives

  • 1. Kyoto Univ., Osaka (Japan)
  • 2. Tohoku Univ., Miyagi (Japan)

Description

The 10B-compounds as the carriers of 10B atoms are one of the keys to make NBCT succeed. Recently, the authors synthesized some derivatives of nucleic acids containing 10B. The present study deals with the enhanced killing of HeLa S3 cells containing these compounds in vitro by irradiation in the thermal neutron beam of the Kyoto University Reactor (KUR). The enhancement was measured with the changes in 4 radiobiological parameters
