Description

Threshold foil activation analyses are presented for measuring the fusion neutron flux from D-T mixed beams driven into a solid target in a linear accelerator. Thin foils of Al, Ni, Cu, Zr, and Nb yielded fairly consistent neutron flux densities. The average energy of neutrons at the location of the foils was also determined by a method of cross section comparison, which showed good agreement with a theoretical prediction. (orig.)
