Resins Used In Purification Stages Of The Sodium Molybdate Solution

Description
In this paper two types of methods (new methods and conventional methods) were used to prepare the resins for the purification of sodium molybdate solution (silver activated charcoal (AgAC), respectively zirconium oxide hydrate (HZO)). To test these resins, we prepared four synthetic solutions of sodium molybdate: first of them contains only sodium molybdate while the other three solutions contain sodium molybdate labelled with tracers (rhodium, ruthenium and iodine) with known concentration. 50 ml of each solution were passed through each set of purification columns. After tests, 0.5 ml of each elution were measured by inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS), in three different stages of the process.The recovery yield of molybdenum was around 85% for the resins obtained by new methods, while for the resins obtained by conventional methods, the recovery yield of molybdenum was around 75%.
