Description
The nuclear energy will continue to play a major role in the European Union. The safe and efficient use of nuclear energy requires professional competence and expertise which can be achieved only by quality academic education and continuous training. The Nuclear Knowledge Management strategy aims at abating the decline of both student number and teaching establishments. The projects developed in FP-5 and FP-6, like ENEN or NEPTUNO try to better integrate European education and training in nuclear engineering and safety. They propose appropriate and affordable solutions for the member state institutions involved in education and training. (author)
