Structure of liquid compound PbTe

Description

Chemical PbTe compound is synthesized by fusion of especially pure components in tubes pumped out to high vacuum. It is noted, that after PbTe fusion a certain part of atoms preserves the close order, typical of crystal compound, and the rest form groups with a denser atom distribution. In the first case the bound is mainly covalent, in the second-metal. Mixed bonds lead to the production of local groups with different atomic distribution geometry, determined by the number of the nearest neighbours and by the most probable interatomic distances
