Inelastic scattering of muons on nucleons in diffractional region

Description

Cross section of absorption of a real photon by a nucleon and the structure functions for inelastic lepton-nucleon scattering in the diffractional region are calculated basing on the nondiagonal extended vector-dominance model. Effects of the finite rho-meson width are taken into account consistently, that enables one to describe the experimental data both on the photoabsorption and on the electroproduction on nucleons in framework of the unified model. Simple approximate formulas are given for σsub(νN)(ν), σsub(T)(ν, Q2) and σsub(L)(ν, Q2) at 10 GeV<ν<106 GeV and 0<Q2<10 GeV2, where σsub(νN)(ν) is photoabsorption cross section; σsub(T)(ν, Q2) is cross section of transverse-polarized virtual photon interaction with the nucleon; σsub(L)(ν, Q2) is cross section of longitudinal-polarized virtual photon interaction with the nucleon; ν is the energy transmitted to the nucleon in l.s.; Q2 is the module of the transmitted pulse square
