Description

Experimental studies of plasma behaviour in longitudinal pinches of flat configuration are considered. It is shown that the initial phase of discharge leads to the formation of two converging current fibres with the neutral line of the magnetic field between them. As a result of the initial fibre movement in the intermediate plasma new regions of higher particle concentration (secondary fibres) appear, in which reverse current flows. The electric field near two parallel flowing currents has been calculated. It is obtained that an inductive electric field, antiparallel to currents in conductors arises at conductor counter movement in the space betveen them. Sometimes the full electric field in neutral region of the system of linear parallel currents may be larger than the applied electric field in moving conductors, and at a high degree of vacuum in this region the flow of energetic accelerated charged particle may appear
