The mechanism of acid-catalyzed nucleophilic substitution in the decahydro-closo-decaborate(2-) anion

Description
Interaction between B10H102- anion salts and carbonic acids was studied by the methods of chemical and thermal analyses 11B NMR and IR spectroscopy. Certain intermediate compounds were isolated from model systems Kat2B10H10+HCOOH (Kat = Rt4N+, Bu4N+, Ph4P+, Ph4As+) and characterized. A mechanism was suggested for substitution of carboxylate groups for exo-polyhedral hydrogen atoms in B10H102- anions in the course of Kat2B10H10 interaction with carbonic acids

Методами химического и термического анализов ЯМР 12B и ИК спектроскопии изучено взаимодействие солей аниона B10H102- с карбоновыми кислотами. Из модельных систем Kat2B10H10+HCOOH (Kat = Et4N+, Bu4N+, Ph4P+, Ph4As+) выделен и охарактеризован ряд интермедиатов.
