Description

Biliary tract dilatation without obstruction may result from sclerosing cholangitis, pyogenic cholangitis, or bile duct surgery. This case report describes a patient with AIDS whose biliary tract dilatation was due to cytomegalovirus infection. Such a diagnosis should now be considered in the immuno-suppressed patient who has dilated bile ducts. (orig.)
