Case study: Deployment of a project and of an organisation of knowledge management at the IRSN (2012-2019)

After a brief presentation of the role and activity of the IRSN, a brief overview of historical aspects regarding knowledge, a brief presentation of the context of the project of knowledge management within the IRSN, and a brief and schematic presentation of the project progress, the authors presents its different phases. The first one concerns the strategic analysis of the knowledge heritage, its application to the field of nuclear reactor safety, and to some other fields. The second phase concerns the structuration of the knowledge baseline (application to PWRs, selection of a search engine, knowledge baseline related to other fields of knowledge within the IRSN). The other phases concern the capitalisation of experts (objectives, method, implementation, return on experience, lessons learned), sharing arrangements (knowledge sharing through a knowledge portal, synthesis, assessment, and situation), the evolution of knowledge heritage (survey, prospective), the implementation of the organisation and management framework as support to knowledge management. The contributions of the knowledge management directorate to internal training, to human resources processes, to the implementation of a tutor-ship within the IRSN, and to the expert set are discussed
