Determination of 226Ra by alpha spectrometry of liquid scintillation

Description
The determination of 226Ra in environmental samples using alpha spectrometry in liquid scintilation is studied. The Radon1-2 emanation method and 226Ra separation process of other radionuclides alpha emissors are analyzed. The use of 226Ra coprecipitation with barium sulphate is evaluated. (M.J.C.)

Estudam-se a determinacao de 226Ra em amostras ambientais por espectrometria alfa de cintilacao em meio liquido. Analisa-se o metodo da emanacao de Radoniol1-2 e a separacao de 226Ra de outros radionuclideos emissores alfa. Avalia-se o emprego da coprecipitacao dpo 226Ra com sulfato de bario.
