Guideline for examination on fire protection in light water power reactor facilities
Description
This is the report submitted from the special subcommittee on reactor safety standard to the Nuclear Safety Commission on October 4, 1980, and this guideline has been decided as the guideline for the future safety examination on light water power reactor facilities. In this guideline, the items to be considered in fire protection are arranged from the viewpoint of maintaining the safety functions of the constructions, systems and equipments, which are important for safety, based on the guideline for the examination on safety design. It includes the definitions of the terms used, and the text describes three measures for the prevention of fire occurrence, fire detection and fire fighting, and the reduction of the effect of fire, and recommends that the design of reactor facilities must be performed appropriately combining these three measures.
