Description
PLasma dynamics in a micropinch region of a vacuum spark at currents of 50-150 kA is studied. It is shown that formation of plasma points in vacuum sparks can be interpreted as the result of Z pinch discharge compression due to flowing out plasma and radiation energy losses. Characteristic feature of discharge is the presence of two compressions. High values of temperature and parameter of plasma confinement consisting of iron ions (T approximately 1 keV, nsub(e)tau approximately 1014 sxcm-3) during the second compression result in multiple ionization of plasma ions. Compression region ia a powerful source of soft x radiation
