Mass and charge dependence of SSTR asymptotic sensitivity

Creators

Description

The maximum sensitivity 'S.infinite' (asymptotic sensitivity) available with the Solid State Track Detector (SSTR) method for 232Th, 233U, 235U, 238U and 239Pu is evaluated using equations involving the range of fission fragments in the SSTR source. For obtaining the analytical representation of 'S.infinite', the range was partitioned in a form which separates the fission fragment variables (masse m, charge z and initial velocity) and the variables of the medium of the SSTR fission source (charge Z, and masse A)
